Baltic Amber Teething Necklaces

After going through the perils of teething with two older kids, I was not looking forward to battling it with twins. All I could imagine was a crying baby, up all night in the rocking chair, Tylenol, high fevers, a crabby baby, cold rags, frozen fruit, and non-stop drooling...times two! I was expecting it, after all, teething is a part of life. Then I learned about Baltic Amber Teething Necklaces.

What are they?
Amber teething necklaces and bracelets has been used for many generations and are widely used and treasured throughout Europe and the Far East. Amber is widely considered as an unparalleled alternative medicine that has proven health benefits.  Wearing amber will help boost your child's immune system, reduce inflammation and accelerate healing throughout the teething process.

Why use it?
Natural amber beaded necklaces and bracelets are a totally natural and completely non-invasive remedy for side effects associated with teething. These side affects include lack of appetite, ear aches, fevers, colds, drooling and tummy troubles.  Baltic amber is also a natural analgesic that will calm your child. It is recognized by allopathic medical specialists as antispasmodic and anti-fever.  Many adults wear the bracelets to improve the arthritis discomfort as well as symptoms associated with MS and Parkinsons disease.

What does it do?

  • boost the body's natural immune system
  • alleviate teething pain
  • accelerate the natural healing process
  • reduce inflammation
  • have a calming effect
  • natural energizer
  • reduce or eliminate pain associated with headaches, joint stiffness
  • treat discomforts like soar throat, ear and stomach irritation as well as fevers and colds
How does it work?
Amber works when the beads are warmed up by the body's skin. This releases healing oils from the amber that is then absorbed into the blood stream. The active ingredient in amber is succinic-acid. This ingredient is a powerful antioxidant that helps fight toxic free radicals and disruptions of the cardiac rhythm.  It has also been shown to bolster the body's immune system and reduce stress.

Is it safe?
Amber necklaces and bracelets are made on a special string and each bead is individually knotted on both sides. This ensures that if the necklace or bracelet broke, the beads would not scatter. You should always supervise children when wearing any type of jewelry.

Does it work?
Based on all the reviews and information out there about the natural healing properties of Amber, I would say yes. My own personal experience....YES YES!  My boys have been wearing their necklaces since they were about 6 months old. They are now over two and I have yet to take them off!! We have never experienced a crying, up-all night teething episode as I so often struggled through with  my older two kids. We have had no drooling, while my son had to wear a bib every day for a year and would drool so much he was always soaking through them. And NO fevers! Both my older children would have a very high fever every night the day before they would cut a tooth. I remember it so very clearly!! It got to the point that an unexplained high fever and crabby baby in the middle of the night meant we would see a tooth the next day. We always did. But I have never experienced any of that with the boys. No Tylenol or Orajel on either one of them. It  has gotten to the point now where I am just afraid to take them off!!

My Opinion:
There are  natural remedies for almost everything, the problem is in finding them. We don't need to pop a pill every time we are sick and throughout generations there have been nod-medicinal remedies passed down the family. I believe they have just gotten lost in modern medicine.  I'd rather try a natural approach first and see what happens rather than pump my body (or my child's) full of drugs.

    4. I love our amber! Erin has six teeth now and, while she does still have some discomfort on bad days, there's no long screaming sessions and she's never had tylenol ever. She had a double ear infection when she was younger, but exhibited no discomfort due to the necklace. It's been wonderful.

My mother has arthritis in her knees and also gets almost instant pain relief from wearing amber. It's nature's best kept secret!

    16. I noticed with my son a lot less drooling after he started wearing his necklace. He also wasn't as crabby when his next set of teeth came through. Everyone asks if they work, and I believe it does!

    19. I LOVE amber too!! I posted a link to this blog on FB but didn't realize that would help me win a necklace. Everyone asks about my daughter's necklace. "Why did you put a necklace on a baby?" I thought this was an informative post so people understand why she has one! (I'm also a fan on FB)
